Google took android to another level by introducing Split screen on Android N, so am gonna be listing some of the features you're yet to see on android 7.0.
1. Multi-Windows for Multi-Tasking
Android had already been able to help us multitask, but it did not support working on two apps simultaneously with multiple windows open. Well, that’ll be soon possible with Android N. A user would be able to work on two apps simultaneously using two app screens on the display.
2. PIP or say Picture-in-Picture mode:
The all new Android N will feature PIP mode for all the apps that can play a video file. That means you’ll be able to view any video from any app and also work on Twitter, Facebook, or anything else simultaneously. The video will compress itself to a smaller size and rest anywhere you drag it on the screen, while you work or surf on the other app.
3. Easily replying a message from the Notification bar:
This isn’t something that Android users wouldn’t have used. It was already available by installing third-party apps, but now Google has incorporated the function right into the Android system and you’ll not need to download any extra app. When you receive any message, it will have a Reply button right under it in the Notification Bar. Just tap that, type your message, and send.
4. Doze effect optimized with Android N:
Doze was one of the most applauding features introduced by Google with Android Marshmallow. The feature minimizes the battery consumption when your Android device is sitting still. Doze had certain limitations in Marshmallow, but that has been eradicated with Android N. Now the Doze feature will start functioning as soon as the screen is turned off. Earlier, there was a time limit after which the Doze would start its job.
5. Night Mode is back with Android N:
Night Mode is also a feature that most of the Android users would have experienced by installing apps from Play Store. You’ll not need any such apps, as the feature has been rolled out as part of Android N. Night Shift mode changes the display color saturation depending on the time of the day. It automatically changes to the cooler color scheme as the day advances and vice versa.
6. Settings app with a new UI:
On any Android device, every change is to be done under Settings menu. Since long, there wasn’t any change in the Settings app. Things have changed now, Settings app has been optimized to navigate easily through menus and sub-menus of different options.
7. Data Saver mode:
“Data Saving” is a term that catches immediate attention of every Android user. Even this feature is available on many Samsung devices, but that’s now part of Android N. The feature will restrict apps to use your data in the background. It also notifies the apps that are using data in the foreground, to help you keep things under your control.
8. New App crash dialogue box with nifty options:
Earlier, when an app crashed, a user had just two options: Close and Send Feedback. A new option has now been introduced with Android N; use will be able to restart the app if it crashed from the app crash dialogue itself. If the app keeps on crashing, then reset and restart option would be presented as an addition troubleshooting. As of now, this particular feature seems to be limited to developer’s preview.
Apart from these, new wallpapers have been introduced with Android N as part of the new theme. We will keep you updated as soon as we get to hear something from Google about Android N. So make sure you bookmark this post in your browser and keep visiting for updates.
